Audi A4 Cigarette lighter removal steps

    Hi
    I have an Audi A4 2003 Saloon, Over the last few weeks the cigarette connection began to work intermittently, when i placed my phone charger into it, Now it has stopped working, I have checked the fuse and it is not blown, Next step is to remove the cigarette lighter to inspect it.

    Does anyone have the steps to remove the Cigarette lighter. Do i need to remove the whole console around it ?

    its quite rare for the 12v casing to be damaged, would you not check the casing with a multi meter first to be sure.

    I have checked the Casing and no power, May be a wiring issue underneath the socket, which i need to inspect, Would you know the steps to access the Cigarrette wiring underneath, Does the whole console need to be removed
