Do UPC plan to update the set top box software in the future? The guide interface is truly terrible I literally have to scroll through 300+ channels to find the one I want whatever happened to categories?

UPC have 150 channels so I don't know how you manage to scroll through over 300.:D

If you press TV guide there is a section down the bottom for categories.

Edit how to use the TV guide http://www.upc.ie/television/TV_Guide/

Indeed, this is the satellite forum, cable tv is the category you want.

    Moved to Cable/MMDS/IPTV.

The channels are still grouped like categories just like they always were. The difference is that while the NTL software presents you with the categories when you press Guide, the UPC software doesn't. Nonetheless there are at least three alternatives:

    1) In the EPG, press Red. Its stupidly labelled "Search", but what it actually does is filter the EPG to only show a particular category of channels.

    2) Dial the channel number you want when you are in the EPG. For example dialing 201 will take you to the BBC News Channel. 323 to FilmFour, 401 to Setanta Ireland, etc.

    3) Use the Page Up or Page Down buttons to move back and forward ten channels at a time.
