What is crap about the new model Megane exactly? What are the known issues?

If it's been looked after it should be absolutely fine. I'd like to see a fully documented service history with it. It's obviously been doing long runs and that's good for a modern diesel. Obviously there will be items wearing sooner than a lower mileage car but factor that in when bargaining.

    OK...

But yeah, mileage is high but was probably mostly motorway miles. Its one of the cheapest on carzone for that reason. Better off waiting till 2012 if you can - prices should drop a little since people see it as a year older even if it just a few weeks older.

I think one or two from here have looked at or bought cars there.
Haven't heard anything bad that I remember.

Two cowboys were waiting in their fort for the Indians to attack. They listened to the distant pounding war drums.
One cowboy muttered to the other, "I don't like the sound of them drums."
Just then, a distant voice came over the hill, "It's not our usual drummer!"

Could you stop using the word "Ye" please?

...see what I mean? Everyone has an opinion. Whether it's grounded in truth or any evidence is irrelevant.

    Ya, everyone knows it's "youze".
Irregardless of this, is there anything the OP should be weary of in a Renault? Could he loose his shirt on it?

According to dictionary.com, "ye" is the plural form of "you", but should only be used in 'evated or ecclesiastical prose', with youze being used otherwise.

OP, the mileage is extremely high for a '09 reg car.

    OK...

How do you come to this conclusion? A WD registered car, for sale in Cork?

To clock up that sort of mileage, it's going to have to have been on the road a lot. If not mainly motorway, then it must have been doing long stretches of the country in one go. Much better than stop/start around town.

Probably a rep for a company based in Waterford.

We have a few Megane diesels out with Reps. We've had a few niggly issues, but no major failures yet. Highest mileage of them is around 50,000km (all July 2010 cars). One was off the road for 4 days due to a breakdown, but there are no further details as to what caused it.

Roughly 200km per day, on a 5 day week. Would be tough to commute that on backroads, and I wouldn't say its a reps car. Only a suggestion really, I can't say I know for sure.

    I get this every day....

Anyway,I have worked for a Renault dealer for over 10 years and my family always had Renaults at some point....Yes there have been bad times, especially from 2002-2008, but I really must say that the new Laguna and Meganes have been much, much better.Actually the Megane has been brilliant..It would have been a bigger seller had its launch not happened at the same time as this countries Financial meltdown--can you believe the Megane was launched in late 2008!!!!!!!

If you have a problem with a post report it. Otherwise don't derail a thread when you can't offer the OP any useful advice.

Just a polite, simple request. Calm yourself dear.
