    Hey Folks,

I have a phat PS3 that needs a reball. I know some folk have been talking about a place on the North Circular Road but that will be a little tricky for me to get too.

When I was passing through the GPO Arcade I saw a place called Fonemenders and they advertised the service for around €60-70. Has anyone used these guys, are they any good? Or am I just best sticking with the guy on the NCR?

Sounds like a reflow they're offering, a reball should cost more than that

A reball is the recommended fix, a reflow won't work for long & may scupper chances of a reballing being able to fix it in the first place.

A reball it is so. Have you heard of the guys I mentioned? Or is there someone/somewhere you can recommend?

Is this a 60GB model? If not, the best solution really is to replace it. There's one or two in the console modding forum who offer it & who have a nice warranty with it too. But unless there's something special about the console, the logical thing to do is replace it

That's what I will do but I want to get the 60GB (replaced that with a 320GB) back up and running so I can recover my game saves. Once that's done I'll purchase a slim.

Ah so it is a 60GB? Good stuff, have it reballed...you won't be needing a slim if done correctly
