Myself and a group of freinds will be in Malaga - Fuengirola to be precise, in late January. We are looking for recommendations for golf clubs in the area - All advice appreciated!

La cala is nice. A friend of mine has been going there every year for the last 6 or 7 years. He is just back from his last trip.
If you want I can give you his number and you can talk to him.

I was down there in late November for a few days . Played 3 La Cala courses, Santana, Valle Romano and Finca Cortesin. ( 6 in total)

I had played Santana and the La Cala Europa before so I knew what to expect.
The La Cala courses are very hilly and you need a cart. They are short and tight and to be honest i think the Europa is worth playing but thats it. In all three you are either grand or in serious trouble off the tee. No rough..just raveens.
Santana is nice and worth a bash definitely the once though having played it twice Im happy now.

Valle Romano is real nice. The presentation was superb and the people are friendly. Some interesing holes.

    However.....

    Finca Cortesin is different class.

The best course in that region. The greens were unbelievable. The welcome is superb. Staff friendly. Condition unreal. Super range just steps from the clubhouse. Memorable holes.. I can remember every single one which is good for me. Volvo matchplay held there in February.

Nice touch too if you want food or refreshments you press a button on the cart and within a couple of mins a guy on a cart comes to you and takes your order and then returns with it in about ten minutes. And its affordable. Its a class place.

I got it for 115 and it was well worth that.
    Hope that helps.
