    good stuff
this is well worth considering imo
it is unlikely tho, imo, that both these courses will be open in Dec 2012

Agreed -far from certain that you'd get a year out of it. Far better options available with decent number of members etc

Can confirm that both clubs will be open until end of Dec 12. Agreement in place with recievers.

I have decided to join Moyvalley too, and also seems like a good few of my golfing friends are looking in to this at the moment.

As long as Carr Golf are involved I would think that looks like a safe deal...

I know a member so sub fee is the best around for a course of this quality. Now after a year out I have to get my GUI handicap sorted again as soon as possible.

Haven't had a good experirnce of the management - played an open there during the summer for €35 and was due a 0.8 cut on my result - despite 5 calls to the handicap secretary they never sorted it despite several promises. I heard their system wasn't setup to accept away players. Pretty shabby if that's true when they were accepting decent money.

Not too fair to blame the management on this one I think. The competiitions are controlled and run by the golf club committe not the management. Not sure if it was yourself but we were asked to resolve a similar issue for someone during the year. We made contact with the GUI and then the away players handicap sec in order to ensure the cut was made. If you want to drop me a PM with the info I can look into it for you. Out of curiosity how did you find the course?

Its a great price for a cracking course. Played it in November and it was in great condition

If it was closer to me I'd be all over that deal. Damn petrol prices

As stated in my previous post nothing was done despite 5 calls to the h'cap sec and several assurances that it would be sorted. My sec stated that his hands were tied unless he could get a copy of the scorecard for manual adjustment - this also never arrived as promised :(

IMHO it's a good course on a fairly drab, uninspiring patch of land.

Hey BigChap1759 if you can drop me a PM with your info and date you played I will see is there anything I can sort for you. I'm not sure if I can at this stage but if there is I will defo try for you.

@ BigChap1759 Your own sec should simply be able to put in a general play adjustment assuming you're not in CAT1 or that cut would drop you into CAT1. It's not as if you're getting any advantage so "having" to wait for a card is not an excuse after this long IMO since you are obliged to cut yourself anyway if you know you beat the CSS in a qualifying competition.
Having the card is better of course but correcting your handicap should be done.
