i asked my bank to cancel a bank account. they sent me a statement in the post and the account disappeared from my online banking. the statement looks like any other statement to me. should it say closing balance or closing statement or account closed somewhere on it? is it common for a bank to send you a letter saying…

is it common for a bank to send you a letter saying that your account is closed or what?
