hi guys,Is there any way to transfer a recording from a sky+ reciever to another device,ie hard drive or memory stick,There was a little clip of my grand daughter on rte for a few minutes and as the childs mother wants to pack up sky tv shes worried that she will lose the recording,i dont use sky myself but knowing the way they work i would assume that it might be a dose to do or maybe impossible, any ideas?

Record it onto disc using a dvd recorder. If you don't have one maybe you could borrow one.

Might be wrong here but I don't think you can. I had a philips hd recorder linked up to my upc box and I used to record from It. I got sky in and connected it up but it would not record, just a blank screen.

thanks for the replys guys,as i said i dont have sky so dont know if you can hook up a dvd recorder to it or a hard drive but i think sky would make it very hard to grab some files out of their box,if anyone has actually done it or can confirm that its possible and how to do it that would be a great help

I transfer Sky+ recordings on a regular basis over to my laptop using a video capture device, with included software. As far as I know it is not possible to transfer the actual files on the harddrive in the box as the files are encrypted.
