does anyone know what was the reported crowd that attended the 1921 aintree grand national, or what is the biggest crowd to ever attend the aintree grand national.

Don't know that but it's around 75k these days.

I think it is either 100,000 or 150,000, so will have a stab at one or the other

Have you had a look at some of the newspapers from the time? Often they record the attendance figures. They're available online, though you will have to subscribe to get access, but if you're around Dublin you can pop into the National Library on Kildare Street and access them for free (though you will have to acquire a reader's ticket, which is free, but you need to bring ID with you. You can see details on www.nli.ie).
