well , checked out be the Ford agency , that means feck all . There's very little to go drastically wrong on an old Tranny, apart from a rotten chassis . And very economical? Compared to what , a Ford tractor? Transits were NEVER known to be easy on juice . A reliable aul slogger , a bit coarse and tractory compared to a Ducato , but would stay ticking along .

Biggest 2 things to look for are rust on the chassis , up front , around the battery areas and below at the front chassis legs , and all along the rear , and of course the demon of all older MHs , dampness in the body . Hehn , while being ok , were never noted for top quality build . Check around the inside of the door frame for softness in particular .

Insist on seeing the fridge , heating and hot water all working on Gas .

No mention of power steering , if it hasn't got it , the steering is very heavy on them when parking .
