Can you use UPC's DTV hardrive as an external drive?

    Hey,
My contract with UPC has recently ran out and I was wondering what to do with the old equipment. I was wondering if you can rip the HDD from the DTV box and use it as an external harddrive through an IDD connector or something.
Has anyone tried this and have you had any success with it?
    Thanks

Firstly your in the wrong forum this is satellite not cable.

Anyway all equipment belongs to UPC and if they ask for it back you must give it back.

You can not go destroying it.

Fair point however the contract is now 6 months gone and I really dont think UPC even remember who I am at this stage of course if they do call me I will have no problem returning the equipment, I am still curious as to if this is possible however

With Sky you own all the gear from day 1. With UPC they own the gear forever. They do have your records. Don't even open it. You can be liable for damages.
