off topic but is that all you have to do to freeze them I tried once with carrots but it didnt work out for me. Also can I just treat them like shop bought frozen veg and put into boiling water to use or should I defrost first.

Parboil the veg first before freezing;)

Thanks op,you reminded me I've to do the same tomorrow.

BTW, the 24c spuds in Aldi are lovely.Best to steam them though.

Also slightly off topic but relevant I think , Lidl veg has no sell by date on it. ( Well the broccoli , spinach , onions and rocket dont anyways ) . Is this legal?? Pity as they usually have great bargains.

As everyone is going off topic, I also will - I'm not buying sprouts this year, cheap they may be but no one ever eats them and I hate preparing them. For many years I cooked them just because it was Christmas but NO MORE.
Anyways, Lidl also had packs of parsnips for 25c (which I will be roasting)

I never noticed they never had a sell bye date on them.. that wouldnt put me off buying them as its very easy to assess if veg is ok just by looking and feeling veg... I think the quality of veg in lidyl and aldi is the best you can get outside of the market and always reasonably priced too...

    Sprouts are lovely!

I coat them in garlic butter and steam.

I'd say they are well stocked with the veg specials, in fact I can see all the stores reducing them even further in an effort to draw in customers for the big Christmas shop.
