Always better off selling it yourself and purchasing with cash.

Compub give extremely poor trade in value.

Adverts.ie seems to have a good Mac market.

Would have to agree with ucd.1985, poor trade-in value, sort of like trading in a car its convenient but ultimately a bad option money wise.

Just put it on Adverts.ie and have a keen price and you'll get rid of it quick enough.

+1 they offered me €300 for a MacBook pro I bought from them for €1300 5 weeks beforehand ( new i5 model came out in the meantime ) now I don't know but they dont depreciate that much. Cash convertors even offered me more :)

Sold it on adverts and got what I wanted for it.

Well the price would depend on the specs, like 21" or 27"? i5 or i7? Graphics card? RAM?

BTW, your name isn't really John Smith is it? :pac:

A computer depreciates in value by about 10% the day you buy it. You would have paid €1150 for the computer - you should recoup around €950 for it.

Compub will offer you a ridiculously low amount (around €450 maximum) for it. They would then flip it and sell it as a refurbished model for around €950.
