Hi Sorry might be in wrong place but could not find another place to put it.

As Xmas is near I am thinking of asking my sisters to buy me turtle beach head set. So what is the different with them, they range from €75 to €250. So I know the €250 one is going to be better than the €75 one, but what is the diff.

What exactly do they do, are they surround sound or do they just make the sound of the game way better and make the chat way better. Like do people who have them use them for all there games. Are theses the best kind of ones to get, I think for that kind of money they would need to make a big diff to my gaming and should really be surround sound

I had a PX21 which cost around €60-€70 and upgraded to the DPX21 for around €100 and a replacement which cost €110. There is a noticeable difference in the sound quality but tbh the PX is still pretty good. A mate has the PX5? which is wireless and better still apparently.

You will be able to tell where an enemy is coming from by the sound alone. Haven't owned any other headsets but can't play without them anymore. They're not known for their sturdiness and seem to break pretty easy, although I've had the PX21s for a year now without any problems.

I'd pay extra for the better quality. I'm being especially rough with the DPX at present. Have my heart set on the PX5 now :)

Thanks for that, but i dont think they will pay €250 (PX5) so i think the €110 (DPX21) one would be the way to go, were can u buy them or were is the best place to get the best deal, i do not care if it would be best to buy online and have to wait till after xmas as i will not be bring my Xbox home for xmas, so i will have to live witout it until after xmas, a hole week it is going to be hard

€250 for a headset! Fcukin' hell.

Have a read of this before you think about spending money on gaming headsets and look at PROPER headphones.

    http://www.head-fi.org/t/534479/mad-lust-envy-aka-shin-czs-guide-to-headphone-gaming-particularly-with-dolby-headphone

    Couple of pointers:
    • Closed headphones (generally) have smaller soundstage (how far away something sounds) than open headphones so with an open design you can potentially hear enemies/footsteps from further away but they let in sound. In MW2 I could hear the orientation and movement of non-ninja enemies footsteps from 15-20 metres with sit rep pro with the right set up.
    • Bass heavy headphones are great for immersive-ness but all that bass from explosions is distracting if you're trying to hear if an enemy is stalking you. Bass light headphones will lessen the intensity of the explosions (and the game) but will give you more of an edge in certain aspects.
    • Bass heavy for fun (creative aurvana live, denons etc.), Bass light for competitive play (ad700s or akg701/2).
    • Open design for bigger soundstage, closed design for are better for blocking out background noises such as hoovers/nagging relatives/fire alarms and emergency services.

    Microphone Monitoring
Hear your voice in the headset so you can hear what you’re saying. Fully customizable: turn it up, down or off, depending on your preference.

"So you can hear what you're saying" ????? Wouldn't I know anyway seeing as I'm the one saying it?

whoo that is alot of diff one now (thanks for that dont like buying anything with out reading up on it 1st), but yea there is no way in hell i would or let any one buy me head phones that cost €250.

I just what a par that makes the sound of the game way better, be able to talk to people when playing the game and a pair i will use no only in MW3.

And then i wife will stop telling me to turn down the TV.

So them one in the http://www.head-fi.org/t/534479/mad-lust-envy-aka-shin-czs-guide-to-headphone-gaming-particularly-with-dolby-headphone

I use a monitor with no external speakers so my setup mightn't suite a tv. It's consists of a vga cable to a basic amp Fiio e5(€15), argos mic (€10)and a crappy sennheiser headphones (€30) that has a volume control on the cord. All the sound comes through the headphone so I just have the mic around my neck. The downside is I can't control the game/chat volume separately.

I'd steer clear of the beyerdynamic dt770 it's 250 ohms and would definitely need a good amp (more money) to power them, you can get lower ohm versions but it isn't as good. Most headphones don't come with a mic so bear that in mind when looking at prices.

For convenience the mixamps looks very handy as it has plenty of inputs and you can adjust the balance of the game and chat volume. If I was going to upgrade my system I'd give a serious look at these as I could use a normal xbox live mic and still be able to adjust both game and chat volumes.

If you're sitting back from the tv and don't want wires then maybe look at some of the wireless models that the various gaming headset makers do, the downside is when the batteries go during use and you're deaf and dumb in game.

With regard to being able to hear yourself talking must be a feature requested by politicians and floyd.

Ok so if u do buy headphones that does not come with a mic can you add one or do people just put the xbox mic under the headphones. Wires is not a problem.

I have been reading some review on Turtles beach head set and not that many great reviews.

I am more confused now than I was this morning, I don’t have a very IT brain I just what good headphone with a mic (or easy to add a mic) that will make the sound better and that has a mic on it. Thanks for all the help so far.

Ask your sisters to get you the tritton ax720's

You can get them in Agros for €150.....some days you can be lucky, they seem to drop in price down to €125

I ordered triton ax180's in argos yesterday, reduced to 50 quid. It was a toss up between them and turtle beaches. Asked the lads on Skype which would they go for, the tritons came out top.

Whatever you do, do not get a wireless headset. They eat through the batteries like no tomorrow. I've got the Turtle Beach X31's and i wish i just went for the cheaper, wired X11's as it saves you money not only on the headset but on batteries too.

Got Triton ax180s, very happy with them, playing both COD and BF3 is a pleasure even when I'm playing bad :)
