    Morning All.

Have fired up a Natural Gas heating system that has been off for years.

The boiler appears to be firing (hot water in taps).

But the radiators are not heating despite being bled.

There's also a leak from this item but I'm not sure what it is. If I turn it clockwise (I though I could tighten it) it leaks more. There seems to be a match mark on it. (like a timing mark)

Anyone tell me what it is please and how a leak might be resolved? Also, looks like corrosion on the black unit (pump?)

    Ta.

Looks like the water pump and the little thing you are opening are the pump valves. All they do is shut off water to the water pump for changing it. There is one on each side of the pump.

Get those cheap pump valves replaced with good quality spindle type valves.
With regards to the rads, the pump is probably stuck, open the the large black plastic nut in the centre of the pump, pull it out and twist it back and forth, this should free it and get the heating to run.
