Sigma EX and Full Frame - Compatible?

Fairly straight forward question, I'd have thought, but Google refuses to give a straight answer.

Does anyone know if Sigma EX lenses are compatible with full frame cameras? I use a Canon 7D and have Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6, 70-200mm f/2.8 and a 30mm f/1.4 (along with two canon lenses).

I know my canon lenses will work on a full frame camera, but I can't figure out if the Sigma lenses will?

I've been considering buying a full frame Canon (5D1) for a while, but whenever I have the money I always realise it's a bit of an investment and I'd rather use one first, then realise that'd be a bit of a tricky one to pull (getting a 5D1 to use) and lose interest in the idea.

So I just thought I'd ask here if anyone would happen to know if EX lenses work on full frame?

    Cheers :)

as far as i understand is not the ex bit of the sigma lens terminology you need to look at but the DG/DC bit:

    • DG: Supports full-frame cameras (newer lenses only, implicit on older models)
    • DC: Supports cropped-frame cameras (lightweight construction, smaller image circle)

The EX series are just their "pro" lenses.

In my experience with EX lenses, regardless of how much they cost me, 50% of them were crap (Sigma 24-70 2.8, Sigma 70-200 2.8). The 18-50 2.8 DC and the 50-150 2.8 DC were ok though, just ok.

The 10-20mm won't work on the 5D but the others will

Yeah I just seen that after I went a Googlin'. Typical. The only one that I'd actually want to put on a full frame camera. :(

They will mount it - but you'll get a lot of vignetting

If you get an extender you can get rid of the vignetting but you then have a minimum f/stop of 5.6-8 instead of 4-5.6
