So all nominations are in, 30 gigs were mentioned but only The Top 10 can go in the Poll (Even though we have 11 as the bottom few were tied on nominations).

Poll will close at Midnight on New Years Eve

You get 1 vote each, so if you were at Rush AND Roger Waters you got a tough choice to make ;);)

Results will open up when poll closes

Rush 30 years ago would have been gig of the century, but now, gig of the year will have to do.

I would've said Manowar @ The Academy but since that didn't make it's Primordial for me.

    Alice Cooper at the 02.

Only because you didn't put Enter shikari in there though :p and the only other one I was at was Amon Amarth / Bodom, which was. Alright.

That's cos Enter Shikari didn't get enough nominations in the nominations thread ;)

    I would emphatically disagree!

Considering the vists we had in 2010 (Guns N Roses,Iron Maiden, RATM, Megadeth, Limp Bizkit) we have had a very quiet year for rock and metal gigs.

I will say that we did have a hayday in 2005/2006 which included:

    -Megadeth
    -Velvet Revolver
-Anthrax (Among the Living Line Up)
    -Slayer
    -The Unholy Alliance
    -Deftones
    -Iron Maiden
    -Soulfly
    -Guns N Roses
    -Mudvayne
    -Metallica
    -Avenged Sevenfold
    -Alice In Chains.
    -Dragonforce
    -Tool
    -Mastodon
    -Trivium
    -Motorhead
    -CKY
    -Down
    -Him
    -Sepultura
    -Deftones

That period will be unrivalled. However, to my mind, this year was rather quiet from a metal/hard rock perspective, and as a result,I didnt attend one gig on home soil this year!

I agree that 2010 was a great year for gigs - even the G'n'R debacle was at least interesting! for me this year I enjoyed Black Country Communion the most, i'm a big Joe Bonamassa fan. Here's hoping that 2012 has some good ones, I'm still waiting on The Sword to re-schedule their european gigs!

I wasn't on Irish soil in 2011 but I have to say, having seen a lot of these bands live in other venues, Volbeat was the band that surprised me the most and blew me away - and on top of that they're great guys

    Hardly surprising really!

So Kiss won in 2010, Rush in 2011, seems the old boys are really setting the bar on live gigs
