Confused

Hi everyone. I'm an 18 year old girl, and for a long time ive been wondering if I'm transgender. I came out as a lesbian last year and everything was fine, but for the last 4/5 months I've been really confused about this. I've always been pretty manly, ever since I was a child, and that's why people wernt surprised when I came out. But maybe it's because I always wanted to be a straight man but never actually realised it. I feel that I would be a lot happier if I was a man. Life would be a lot better and easier for me. I've always wanted to be able to wear tailored suits and have stubble but I want to be able to have my dream on top of it. I'm afraid that if i transition I wouldn't be able to have it.

Has anyone been in the same situation or had any experience?

    What's your dream?

I'm hoping to transition as soon as I get my appointment sorted, my last hurdle. Nothing has put a stop to me wanting to live my life as a female. If the idea of living your life as a male makes you happy then don't let anything stop you.

If your dream is -as i assume- to have kids then nothing will stop you just keep a few of your eggs

    who mentioned having kids?

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Well my dream is to be a lawyer but be an accepted male lawyer. i know that transitioning is a long process but I want to be happy in both myself and my job! And I don't want kids so that's not the problem :)

I hope so! Im really excited about the whole thing! I know its not an easy thing to do but id love to be transitioned by my late 20's since that's at least 7 years. The relief of the whole thing. I couldn't stop thinking about it all day.

Yes is it not a bit rash mentioning an endocrinologist at this preliminary stage?...such would take some time and quite a few appointments to arrange not to mention a lot of reflection....That's not to say that it isn't the best thing for you to do,but time to think further,to asess is important...Maybe a support group early next year would be a good idea? where you could bounce ideas, learn from others and get support?.
