My Little Nurse!

This is the lovely little face of my little nurse!!

The past few nights I've been up at all hours due to sickness and this little man Misty has woken up, followed me to the bathroom, sat beside me quietly and escorted me back to bed each time. Then regularly checks on me and gives the gentlest little kiss.

The love and faithfulness of a dog is unreal, don't you just pity those people who have never known or can't appreciate the love of a dog? They are definitely missing something special from their lives!

What a beautiful baby, my cuddle muscles just went into overdrive.
I couldn't agree more OP, those who have never loved a fur baby are missing so much.

What a lovely story OP! So sorry to hear you've been sick but its lovely so hear someone who appreciates their pet so much.:) I find that my two make all of lifes problems so much easier to bear - just looking into their trusting eyes makes everything feel better. XX

That's true for you, Shazanne. Like a lot of people, money is tight for us this year and sometimes it feels like there isn't much cheer to go around. But then I remember that I have three dogs who don't want anything except to hang out with me and who make me happy with their shenanigans and I think, well it could be a lot worse.

OP, you have a beautiful dog and I'm so glad that you had someone with you when you were unwell. A dog's company can get us though quite a bit.

Yea our dogs can be incredibly loyal and affectionate. My last guy would never leave my side if I had the flu. He'd try to crawl into the bed with me if I had the fever shivers and actually lick my forehead. But only if I had the real deal. Ordinary case of the sniffles and he was "meh, feck off snotty monkey boy". My doctor at the time reckoned the hound was a pretty good diagnostician. In fact once I rang him feeling unwell and he jokingly asked is the dog looking worried about you? :D

I'm not a big cat person myself, but an ex of mine had a cat that was the same on the loyalty front*. Well when she was fine the cat was quite standoffish and damned aggressive with me, yet when she was sick the cat would never leave her side and would be really friendly to me. Well so long as I was looking after her "mum". No joke, it would start meowing really loudly at me if the ex needed food/drink etc. That moggie was a hard task master. :)

*contrary to popular belief I've found cats can be very loyal. Oh sure right neighbourhood food freeloaders :D but still loyal to the main family/owner

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

The funny thing in my house is that if my niece is sick she gets all the special treatment, I just get my head bounced on and I can almost hear the dog saying 'get up you lazy sod and play with me'

Pets are certainly the best company. And yes, cats have their 'soft' sides too! My parents have cats and I have to say, they can be very affectionate when they feel like it! Misty has a 'fake' limp which switches on and off when treats and biscuits appear.... maybe he feels he owes me one after all the time myself and the OH have spent 'investigating' his mystery ailment!! :) Thanks a million for the well wishes, they were very kind. Misty is currently knackered out on the couch... night duty is hard on a little doggie! :D:D:D
