    Win 7
    MS Word 2007

Folks, i'm trying to recover a file in Word and i'm struggling. It prompted me to recover it in the AutoRecovery pane on the left hand side and i chose to do so but i had to close out of it again, and i'm trying to bring up that pane again but cant.

I have looked in C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word but there is nothing there.

    Any ideas?

This may help, if it's in one or your temp folders or somewhere on your PC.

Sorry i should have said, i have googled a good bit on this already and came across that page already and the files it says to look for are not there, which is annoying because i was prompted to recover it so i'm fairly sure there is a copy of it there something, i just need to track it down.

Does anyone know how i launch the AutoRecover panel from within the application?

Or if i could find the old Windows 'Search Companion' then i could search for *.asd files and see if its in that lot.

The autorecover dialog is meant to launch if it finds an asd file.

How about using Recuva to find whether the pre-existing asd file can be undeleted? (And make a backup copy?)

Yeah, that would explain why its not launching that dialog now.

I'll give it a go but i have rebooted in the meantime so i dont know does that affect it.
