Advise needed on good siezed by uk customs

Could someone please advise me on the following, I have a friend who I used to work with who now lives in China, she sent me a hermes bag by EMS as a xmas present and it has been siezed by UK customs. I contacted customs who said it was siezed because they suspect it is a fake. I am not buying or selling its just a present…

Could someone please advise me on the following,

I have a friend who I used to work with who now lives in China, she sent me a hermes bag by EMS as a xmas present and it has been siezed by UK customs.
I contacted customs who said it was siezed because they suspect it is a fake.

I am not buying or selling its just a present from my friend and to be honest I have no idea if it is real or not.

Is there anything I can do.where do I stand as a reciever of a gift they suspect is a fake.

Doesn't matter if you're not buying or selling it, once customs seize something that is fake they destroy it. Importing counterfeit goods is a crime, simple as that. They could fine you as well if they wanted.
