To get you started, there's a link to a CV help thread in the sticky. If you have MS Word, then some of their resume templates aren't bad. I tend to remove the personal statement bit at the top, but others don't.

What industry are you applying for jobs in? I'm in IT, and I tend to use a lot of short bullet points, while my sister who is a solicitor says that their CVs need to be a bit more verbose.
