So much for that new law that was meant to stop sexual discrimination for insurance

"Sample" insurance comparison websites are generally useless. My personal experience is that the same information is not given to each insurer when getting a quote. Add in that they are only quoting around 10 insurers an it loses credability.

What Ireland needs, and there isn't one, is an online quote engine where you enter your own specific information and all insurers terms come up

the things on that site don't match my experiences! i was quoted 1900 by AXA, and 1200 by FBD, i'm 27, got my full licence about two months ago and have no previous insurance. the car is a 1.4 golf from 2004!

I'm a 20 year old female with a provisional license... Just after getting myself a one litre yaris, i've been quoted up to 4grand... My cheapest quote is 940 for fully comp with myself as the main driver and my dad is named.... Don't think I'm gonna get cheaper than that.. a friend of mine is 20 in a 1.1 renault clio on a full license and his insurance is 1300.. As a female I'll still say it.. It's ridiculously unfair.

Add a experienced female driver under your name..Seems crazy but an extra female driver reduced my quote.

    True!
My parents both have 25+ years exp with 10+ no claims. My dad on his own is around 500 and when he adds in my mother it comes down to 350ish

My mother never did her driving test and has a full licence from back in the day, she reduces my quote and I would admit she is a bad driver..its crazy like.

Female drivers are handy for something anyway :) haha
