sky what are the chances

Ok i have just returned to Ireland after 5 years away,i left my bank account open as i knew i would be back one day. Guess what sky took a full years payemnts from my account even though i had cancelled their service before i left. I have sent them an email and i am not holding out much hope of getting the money back but i am so bloody angry.

I am defo going on the radio next week as i can see what sky will say,

i dont suppose anyone can give any advice as its that long ago since i have been in Ireland i have no letter or anything to prove i cancelled sky.

I am so so angry ,now i actually owe the bank money . i had sky in the house for 18 months before i left and they told me all was cancelled no problems. soooooooooooooooo angry:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

They keep a recording of all phone calls for ages. If it has to go to court you can demand the recording.

If the recording exists and is clear they won't let it go to court. Hope you get it sorted.

Cancelling the direct debit won't 100% stop them taking the cash.

Hi i did cancel the direct debit and sky also informed me that the service was cancelled.
I only left 300 in the account to keep it open,as i knew i would be coming back one day.

Cancelling a direct debit does not cancel an account. There is still a balance on this account from when the original direct debit was cancelled. Please advise what time would be best to call you or alternatively call our customer services team on.




This says to me that they re-activated my cancelled direct-debit but i thought that was illegal once it was cancelled.
I also did not owe them one penny,as i always paid my bills and they confirmed my account was canceled with everything paid.
i had the service for 18 months so i was not breaking any contract,also why take a full years money.
