For a gumshield's look for 'pro gumshields' on facebook or ask in your club. But personally I've never paid more than a fiver in Elervys or any good sports shop.

For MMA gloves try either Cru Clothing in Abbey st. Ebay or your coach.. Don't go near Mullens on Caple St.

I take it your looking for MMA sparring gloves, make sure you mention this as there is a difference.

I'm on my phone so can't post links, sorry.

We've got mouthguards, MMA gloves and MMA Sparring gloves in the Studio shop if you're interested.

We're in Clonshaugh Ind Est, between Santry and Coolock just off the M50/M1

If this is the case I would recommend you the bag gloves

    http://www.ringside.com/ringside/boxing-gloves/bag-gloves.html

    Personally I use 16oz http://www.fightshop.com/sandee-boxing-gloves-two-tone-red-white-p3657

That's because of extra padding, shock protection etc

Purchased them 2 years ago and using them every day on a heavy bag so I can vouch for the quality of this product.

If you are interested in buying them locally then contact Paddy from Chupusart

Those €25 Argos gloves are a very cheap, nasty joke IMO.

Thats a great Gumshield, i use 1 and there very comfortable and at 20 quid is cheap.

Rush Boxing club and Rush Martial Arts head coach.

In fairness 20 quid for a fitted gumshield is a very good price. I have a shock doctor one and its great (been tested a few times too). I have heard the under armour ones in Elverys are excellent but they are more expensive.

I use fightshop.co.uk or rdxinc.co.uk to buy gear but thats because there is nowhere near to me and I don't have time to be trekking around to buy gear. Also, have a few rash guards from maddog and they are good quality.

Those sandee gloves are great, I have a paid of Sandee grappling gloves and they are still in perfect nick after nearly 2 years of use.

Those rdxinc.co.uk prices look very good...30 sterling for a 5ft bag??

Yeah I was looking around for some bits and pieces and came across some of their products. The prices were reasonable but varied so I thought about going direct and to be honest the prices were excellent by doing this.

Im getting a pair of 16oz boxing gloves, Gel hand wraps, compression shorts with built in cup and a pair of fightshorts for £75 including delivery. It was much cheaper than going with other stores and I will let you know what the quality is like.

    Please do...

I need to get some new weightlifting gear as well and this could kill two birds with one stone

Just be careful when buying martial arts gear, you really do get what you pay for.

Best to spend a wee bit more and have it last, definitely dont buy a 5ft bag for £30 it wont last a week..

100% agree, I have gone through gloves before hence why I bought the Sandee MMA gloves and they were well worth the extra, also the real test is going to be the compression shorts - I go through these very easily so I am interested to see if the quality of these are any better.

I will give a review of this stuff in the New Year when I have a bit if time to test them out.

from my own experience i wouldn't buy anything in Argos. Iv bough gloves there and they ended up in ribbons.
I have a pair of 12oz boxing gloves that i bought in mullens sports 4 years ago and are still perfect despite being a bit smelly.

For a gum shield i would recommend you get a custom made. I got one made by my dentist and it is the best gum shield i had.

Right, so received my order at 10am on the 23rd so that was 5 working days - cant complain about that, especially with it being the Christmas period. Thoughts so far (only had a smash on the bag for a little bit so will give a better review after a few sessions).

Gloves: good quality, leather, fit well, good support cant complain about them when i only paid £18 stg for a pair of 16oz gloves!

Gel wraps: Again, good quality, would have preferred if the wrap on the wrist was a bit longer as I have big arms and small hands so like a bit more support on the wrist, but that's a personal thing.

Compression shorts: Good quality although slightly big and I have huge legs. I would have thought that large for someone who has a 34" waist would be OK but I would go a size smaller. No cup and that is annoying but or £14 I can get one elsewhere.

Shorts: Good quality, light with room for lots of movement. Look great too.

All in all, I would definitely recommend them.
