Questions about Church of Ireland funerals

My Gran has recently died at the ripe age of 90.

One side of my family is Protestant . I am catholic . I really have not been any protestant funeral.

I am to return home tomorrow but have no clue on the way things are done.

Is there a wake house? Is there 2 or 3 days between passing away to funeral?

I dont want to seem like a idiot by expecting the wrong thing when I arrive.

Sorry to hear about your Grandma. I think they're basically the same, the house can be private but normally isn't. There are no prayers or anything until the funeral day, and it's generally two nights for a wake/corphouse.

My sincere sympathies on your loss.
C of I funerals vary from parish to parish and from family to family. The common thread is that there is usually no evening removal, but other than that it is a time for families to come together, support each other and remember the person who has died.
