Right, I need to siphon some fuel from the Corsa and stick it into the Alfa. AIB have accidentally put my account into the negative and it's going to stay there for the weekend, so I need fuel and have no money for it. I have a length of platstic tubing and a jerrycan, any suggestions? The Corsa's tank is half full.

How rigid is the tube? If it's really soft, pinch it with your fingers as close to the Corsa and drag your fingers along the tube like a peristaltic pump, if it's a bit more rigid maybe get a couple of pins and clamp them over the tube with a vice grips to do the same thing. Also, it'll be easier to siphon Corsa tank to jerry can than Corsa to Alfa unless you park the Corsa on a height above the Alfa, the discharge end of the hose needs to be lower than the suction.

Thanks, I have a jerrycan so won't be siphoning directly. The tube isn't too flexible but is clear. I'v been Googling and people mention pulling the fuel pipe out of the injector rail, disconnecting the starter and cranking. Any opinions?

Usually you can access from boot or rear seat. Look up a guide for changing a fuel pump in a Corsa and its likely explained.

PS: F'ing banks, my own one actually lost a substantial cheque I gave them to cash to my account. Lost the cheque!? Still waiting on that money.

Id prolly access the fuel pump from the boot, rig it up to a standalone battery (um connect the wires to the pump first, then the battery, sparks and all, though it should be ok) and connect a diff hose to the pump outlet directed straight into the other cars tank.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

Even if you don't swallow, the taste of petrol stays with ya for a good day or two. Good luck, OP :D

Did you consider doing a transfer from your credit card onto your current account? Should be instant, but will cost about €2

Not sure if you can get a hose into the tank, but if you can.
Put two flexible hoses into the tank, one right to the bottom and one above the fuel level. Create a seal around the two hoses and the filler hole with your hand. Blow into the one thats above the fuel level this will force the fuel out of the other hose and the fuel will flow until the corsa tank is empty or u pull out the hose. No swallow:D we do this in reverse to fill our boat from a jerry can.

Does your insurance do free temp subs? Transfer onto the Corsa for the weekend. No mouthful of petrol=win for Confab!

Hoping ye have some guidelines for myself. The missus filled up her car which was on its last legs anyway and as soon as she pulled out of the garage the car died. It's now fubar'd and she wants to siphon the petrol out of it and transfer it into my car. She has a 02 Seat Ibiza. Anyone know what the story is with accessing the fuel tank or would the hose method work?
