Right i failed the nct today because i had two different size tyres on the rear. one is 195/55/15 and the other was 185/55/15.
first of all would having those two different sizes affect the tyre damage much?
and secondly, my spare tyre is the right size but it wouldnt pass coz of thread wear. if i was to put the spare on when getting retested do they only check for the correct size, would they fail you again if they saw that it wasnt the right thread??
    thanks

Regardless of passing the NCT or not you wouldn't be fitting a tyre that you know is bald to the car anyway surely?

You need to replace the tyre thats the wrong size. Or if its anyway recent, go back to the garage that fitted it and get an explaination from them.

It could, as those tyres differ in diameter, so car is acutally not standing straight.

Yes, thay would fail for that.

I should ask if you would fancy puting two different size shoes and go for a walk?
