Clearance when installing a fridge

    Hi,

What kind of clearance usually needs to be left when installing a fridge-freezer? Specifically I am interested to space at either side. Can this be zero as long as there is space left behind the fridge where the heat exchange element is and above it? Basically I have an unusually narrow space to try to fit a fridge into (only 49.5cm wide) and I'm wondering if it will be okay if I can find one that I can just about jam in there ?

    Thanks,

    Usjes.

Side space is not relevant for a F/F, the space behind and above is all that matters.

You're kabooshed if your opening is only 49.5cm wide. The vast, vast majority of frdges & fridge/freezers are 50cm wide and wider. Is there any way you can widen that opening to +60cms?
