New Roster agreed

    This is up on the Agsi site

    Five unit, 10 week roster agreed



    Agreement has been reached between the staff associations and garda management on the Core Roster to be nationally piloted under the Croke Park Agreement. The date of the commencement of the national pilot is not yet agreed but is likely to be in the first quarter of 2012.


    The roster will be based on a five-unit, ten-week cycle.

    Longer shifts but a hell of alot more time off....

    It's not exactly clear how the Sundays will work. I can see manpower being a big isuue on Sundays, especially Sunday nights during bank holiday weekends. Otherwise I think it's pretty good.

    Are they for real???? That's three weekends off per 10 weeks... As things stand we have as good as 2 out of 4 off with the current roster. This is shambolix!! I thought this new roster was supposed to improve lifestyles, health etc... How does this work around family life only being off 3 weekends out of ten???
