BMW New Car Discount Q

This is directed at users who have purchased a New BMW over the last couple of years - what is the typical cash discount (%) that one might expect without any trade in? I know it can depend on the car price and what options are fitted etc etc, I'm thinking 5%'ish

    Thanks

5% would be a good discount, you might have to push the dealer hard to get that - especially if it's a model that is selling well at the moment.

There isn't a huge margin on new BMW's.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

There's not much point asking others how much discount they got. It completely depends on the situation. On a new F10 520d with no options, you'd get very little off, less than 5% for sure. On a top of the range 7-er with all the options ticked, you should get a lot more than 5% :D

But it also depends on the time of the year, if you take a car that's already on the forecourt, etc. etc.

In March I was offered 2k off a new 520d with no options except metallic - so that's about 4.7% discount. I didn't haggle just asked him what the discount was.

^^^ Thanks to all. I purchased one 'in the boom years' and could only get 2.7%, then a relation bought a Merc this year, which was cost half the price I paid, but got nearly double (75% more) the discount I got, which set me thinking

What model was the Merc, it is difficult to compare if they are not like for like. The Merc could have been a model that nobody wanted to buy, so the dealer was happy to see it go at a heavily discounted price. A BMW 520d will sell all day long. Your relation could also be a better haggler than you too. :)
