    Hi Stove Fan,
I could really do with some advice regarding stoves and you seem to know what you're talking about.
We are close to the end of a new build....approximately 2,200 sq. ft. ground floor with an open loft (playroom) of about 900 sq ft. upstairs.
There is 10 medium size (4ft) double rads and 5 small double and 4 small single rads. In addition to this there is 4 medium double rads upstairs.
We have double glazing and extremely well insulated.
We are going with a stove in our open plan kitchen dining area which is a very big room (approx 360 sq ft.) It is connected to the living room and sun room by 2 double doors to each.
The house is zoned for 3 areas....living space, bedrooms (4) and upstairs.
We were advised by a couple of people to go with a stove that will heat around 12 rads and just heat 12 rads at a time.
Should we be going with a big workhorse stove that will do as many rads as possible? I looked at the Hunter Herald 80b (54,000btu boiler) but looks like its huge inside....would it be impossible to keep it fed with fuel?
Also looked at Blacksmith Stove, the farrier boiler model... 8kw to room and 15kw to water (up to 14 rads).
Also looked at the Inis Mor 22kw output, 75,000btu's. Says in brochure it can heat a 3,000 sq. ft. house?
How many kw to my room should I be looking for and how many for rads???

We will be mainly burning wood. We also have put in oil and solar panels.
I love the look of the new Stanley reginald as its a little more contemporary than the others but I don't think it is big enough for us?
Can you reccommend any others (preferably a little modern/contempory looking) that might work for us or what do you think of what I was looking at above???

I appreciate you taking the time as I really need help
    Thanks!!!

Hey Stove Fan, everyone says you are the man when it comes to stove related queries so here goes...

we have a bungalow with an open fire and 17 radiators...i know, a lot!

the floors in this house are a nightmare, uneven...un level....un everything, the guy that put in our wooden floors a few years ago laid them over the existing tiles as the floors were in such a mess...

our fireplace is in the sitting room, with the fireplace backing onto our hall, the hotpress is about 10 meters away from here at the other end of the hall

if we were to install a stove to heat radiators and provide hot water could the pipe run from the stove go up and across the attic? or does it have to go under the floor? ( i know i'd need a brute of a stove to do this and ripping up wooden floors and then tiles would be a nightmare...)

if the above isn't possible here is my next scenario...

Would it be possible to install a stove, run the pipes through the attic and have it set to heat only the radiators?

Here is where i am coming from... we currently only have oil central heating for both rad's and hot water...we a re pouring buckets of coal into our open fire and watching the heat go up the chimney...

no matter what we are going to install a non boiler stove for the heat and effeciency benefits, however if there was a chance that we could heat the radiators only then we'd prefer a boiler stove and would do this....

thanks for your advice and help in advance
