Can anyone give me a list of a couple of indie music stores around Ireland (none of this chart music store ****e) e.g. places like Plugd Records in Cork, that sell decent Vinyls of Metal or Alt-Dance music. Any help would be appreciated, I hear dublin has a few hidden away.

Freebird and Tower both have a decent selection of stuff, I agree...I've only recently started buying vinyl again...I was surprised to find a load of rock/indie lps in Celtic Note on Nassau St the other day...It's worth a look.

If you're not planning on going on a post-gig bender, merch stands are great for picking up records too...but you guys probably know that already...

Elastic Witch in the twisted pepper is great.

If you're into your heavy music then you should definitely check out Into the Void Records http://intothevoidrecords.com/ . It's a bit out of the way but worth checking out. good selection of vinyl. it's just off Aungier street in dublin, you take the turn off where the hostel is at the corner.

Also, that new e2 place on dame street looks ok. good selection of 2nd hand stuff

Wingnut Records in Galway which is located in the 2nd hand shop Bell, Book and Candle.

Wingnut have also spoken of opening a new area within an existing premises in Waterford.

I think Kate from the band Burrows is involved.

Third Wave (at the back of the Liber Bookshop on O'Connell Street) is far better imo. Literally will order in anything you want, and do a good bit of vinyl as well. The guys in the Record Room are definitely very knowledgeable, but they don't sell a great selection of music in it. If you're looking for something unbelievably random there's a good chance they may have it though.

@ the OP - Third Wave had a good bit of alt-dance vinyl last time I was in there.
