    Hi,

Not sure if I am in the right forum or not? I'm looking to get a battery power pack charger for my boyfriend for Christmas, I just want to make sure that I ge tthe right type?
I'm not sure if the one battery pack charger does all cars or if there are specific ones for different engine sizes?

He has a VW Golf 2.0 litre GT TDI. Should I be looking for a particular type of battery power charger of will any one do? I think they have them in halfords, just wondering shold I be more specific?

    Thanks in advance :D

There are two types 12volt and 24v you want the 12volt one.and if u buy a cheap one it will be a waist of money also don't be conned into buying one with a air compressor and all on it as theses are not really worth the hassle.just get a fairly good 12v boaster pack like the sealay road start one.

Is it a battery charger or a booster pack your looking for?

i.e, is it to keep the battery charged in a car that isn't used very often or is it to jump start the car if it has a flat battery?

its to jump start the battery when it is dead. It seems to give trouble in the cold weather when hasnt been driven in a few days
