Garage quoted me on the wrong part - options!

    Quick question,

Got a quote from a garage to replace the wishbones, track rods, ball joints on the front end of my car (C70 Coupé) for EUR580 (OEM parts not Volvo).

I agreed to the quote and dropped the car in 1st thing this morning. So yer man calls me up and says they made a monumental f.up as the Wishbone they bought is the wrong one (my car actually has the V70 wishbone, not sure what one he bought) and the quote he gave is no longer valid, the V70 wishbones are basically EUR980 the pair as opposed to the quoted EUR355.

What the hell can I do now?

    (a) Shell out the wedge (he will knock off EUR 80 from the Wishbone price)
    (b) Tell him to put it back together and drop it back to me free of charge so I can reassess what to do (go the scrap yard route).
    (c) Does he need to honour the price?

    Help!

Note - I already gave them 180 for a service last week and 300 for 2 new tyres and more money for a battery.

Something doesn't sound right. The wishbones for your car are around €150 each and they come with ball joints and thats Volvo prices.

PM your car details & I can check for you.

I didn't think so - but just wanted to double check in case I was about to be an eejit.

Would there be that big a price differential? That's almost 3 times for a pretty similar car. Sounds like the excuse may not be all that truthful tbh.
