Hey, this is not a big issue but something I'd like some help with....

I just started working in a new office and I've met a guy that I quite like. My history with guys has ended up with me getting hurt more than once, I think due to the fact that I always went for the confident bad boys. This new guy that I have met is very nice down to earth and seems a bit shy and I just feel really attracted to him. I think he may be attracted to me (who knows) as he has made an effort to talk to me several times.

I don't know if he is single but I think he is. He will be finishing up where we work in about 6 months. I'm just wondering how to show him I like him without being really forward as we work together it could get awkward!! I'm kinda looking to play the long game here and lay some groundwork so that maybe I could ask him out closer to when he leaves. We have a christmas party in a few days so I thought I could get some advice on how to act then as I don't always see him round the office very much?

I'm useless at this sorta stuff really I just wait for guys to approach me but I reckon I may never get a nice guy doing that as I seem to attract attention from bad boys :(

Any advice would be much appreciated!! Thanks...

Eh, I'm generally against office romances (on the don't sh*t where you eat) theory, but if you don't work directly with him (you say you don't see him often in the office) and he leaves in 6 months, I wouldn't worry about waiting until the 6 months to ask him out. A lot can happen before then.

Definitely, definitely, don't hook up at the Christmas party (I assume you know that). I would suggest, early in the night (before too much alcohol is consumed), simply finding sometime to chat with him, and suggest meeting up outside the office sometime (coffee, bowling, whatever interests are) and swap phone numbers.

After that, don't stick to close to him or anything at the party (circulate and behave normally), and call/text a few days later and set a date.
