help - cant set up my email on ipad with upc

    while i can set up my hotmail or gmail account, my ipad wont let me set up my work email which has an 'ie' ending.
    i am using the same upc outgoing server details as is on my laptop (so you would think it would work) but my ipad wont recognise the server:
    smtp.upcmail.ie

    is there another UPC server that would be compatible with my iPad ???
    i have all the other details e.g. password for work email etc so it is not that.
    any help would be really appreciated
