redring expressions 500S

hello. i live in an apartment block of 4 apartments. they all have redring expressions 500S showers installed, and they are all giving trouble.
but first a little history. both downstairs apts are on a sealed water system, ie they do not have water tanks in an attic, but both upstairs have tanks in the attic, although the showers seem to be piped to the mains supply. this creates problems because the local water pressurebcan vary from below 1 bar to over 3 bar ( and once over 4 bar which destroyed the sealed system cylinder) depending on what the council decide they want to screw it up to, and this can vary several times a week.
ok so my shower sometimes will shut off. i press the on/off button and wait the 5 seconds for it to stop. sometimes it does but sometimes it restarts again. i believe this problem is related to Phased Shut down PCB. also there are 3 power settings on the shower....high, medium, and cold. i normally have to keep it on high to get a decent hot/cold mixture, but tonight it is all messed up. on cold it is cold, on high it is very hot and on medium it is a low luke warm. anyone got any ideas. also the apt. opposite's shower is messed up too. is this a shower related problem, is it a plumbing problem because they are fed directly off the mains, or is it a problem caused by the extremes in water pressure caused by some idiot in the local water board.
any help or advice would be greatly appreciated
the landlord is a relation of mine and i am the person he always asks to deal with any problems first, but i do not know an awful lot about showers unfortunately
