Hey guys, I'm looking for some help with my laptop, any help would be very much appreciated.

So I've had my Dell Inspiron 1720 Laptop that I have had for 4 years. About a month ago the monitor started getting slow, like 1 frame every 5 seconds or worse. While doing this it gets lighter/whiter and kept getting lighter untill it was white and nothing worked. I kept it off for a while (like a week) and it looked like it was going to work but then it slowly started doing the same thing again. I took it apart and checked the LCD connections and everything looked fine.

When I connect a external monitor it works fine. I also did a performance test and it didn't detect anything wrong.

Any idea's whats wrong with it?
