not talking in terms of the picture etc. .

but the actual camera it self, whats the difference between a dome and a standard camera. Suppose i was to get a 4 camera system for outside, why would u pick dome over std camera, or vv.?

is it just appearance, dome more discreet?, or ease of mount?. ..

me myself, think dome cameras are a bit "clothes shop" alike. . .

while a std camera might stand out a bit more, sher thats what i want?

Depends, with some domes you don't know where they are pointing plus domes would be more vandal resistant.
A standard box camera in a metal housing has more of a visual impact and usually more features.
A bullet cam, for the most part, has the same functionality as a dome but you know what area it's covering and is not as vandal resistant

Spiders like box/bullet cams much more than domes.

    They're not fussy, anywhere there's heat/IR you'll have spiders
