My spiderbox extra's has expired and no chance ill be giving those cowboys a cent for another spiderbox, so I rather go down the other route (if ya get my drift :))

What I loved about the spiderbox how easy it was to use and did a brilliant job on my motorised dish

Im looking for a HD box that has good cccam and easy to use. The spiderbox has cccam but I find it crap (very high ecm times)

I had a 500hd dreambox before and that drove me nuts so I dont want that again :D

I also have no interest in internal hardives but would like an option for external hard drives and a receiver that can do 4:2:0 and 4:2:2

I was thinking of a Vu Plus route but unsure

if the picture is stable who cares about ecm times, also pick the best cam version, and ncamd is better so get an n line,

what is 4:2:0, and i have heard of 4:2:2 but what does it provide/
    ?

No, the picture is never stable, basically unwatchable

Iv tried cams that my friend uses on his dreambox and they're perfect for him but crap for me, same with ncamd

Iv been told before on other forums that spiderbox is crap for cccam

    4:2:0 and 4:2:2 are satellite feeds :)

like for example wwe is always transmitted in 4:2:2

I know the azbox can take 4:2:2 feeds but it isnt the most favoured box - I found it ok never had freezing problems

Most would recommend the vu boxes, there is a new one coming out ultimo - not sure if it will handle the feeds - but for everything else it seems to be the best out there

    Well I have a Vu+ Duo and I love it ;)
Its a great bit of kit with great support/software and a big user base to learn from.

But knowing how important feeds are to the footy fan :P
If I was starting over I'd probably buy a Vu+ Solo(Single tuner and Blindscan capable)
Or push the boat out and get an ET9200(Dual tuner and Blindscan)

As for the 4:2:2 aspect I'll be honest here and say I don't know if wither of those will do it(I can state for a fact the Vu+ Duo won't)
But both will pass thru 4:2:2 feeds to VLC on a pc ;)

As for the ecm times, I've never seen a stable picture with high ECM times so the lower the better.(altho if your EMM is being provided via a server, the high ECM would be more likely to be a server or network issue, than a client side problem.)

Maybe if you can decide on a budget, you'll get some better advice.

Ya im looking at the Vu+ Solo, that would be my budget 200 euro

Are they good for controlling motorised dishes and how difficult is it to set it up for the certain stuff :)

Iv also been told the vu+ dont do 4:2:2 but I can use the pc method so not a big deal

There is a learning curve but all in all with a little reading and some common sense....
Its a very easy box to use, as are most e2 boxes.
The ease of use will be dependant on the image you install for Vu you really are hard pressed to find better than the vix image for ease of use imo.
Other images that are also great are PLI, VTI and blackhole, there are many other teams supporting this box too so always good support.
As for the cams, most images now don't have these in their download feeds but they are v.easy to install via ftp or telnet ;)

Vu+ solo is a great box!

But they don't do 4:2:2 only a handful of recievers do!

However it is possible to stream from the VU to your pc and unscramble them using VLC player..

I would love one over my dreamboxes myself just can't afford one atm!

    Go for it ;)
