Quick questions about exam procedures now in WIT. When I was there doing exam there was always someplace safe to leave your bag and coat when doing exams.

However I am back doing a postgrad and am just wondering what the situations is now. I have an exam this week in one of the E rooms and then next week the hall. Given the weather is so bad and I walk to college I need a coat, keys etc.

So in the E room or Hall is there anyplace to leave your stuff safely as no offence to anyone at WIT but no way I am leaving a coat with mobile, keys lying around. Before anyone says it I could try to leave the keys and mobile at behind and wait then try to arrange for someone to be there to let me in but still have coat etc.

May be a bit of a stupid question but things have changed a bit since I was last there - back then you could have a pencil case on your desk and now have to have it on the floor.

Last year we were told to put any phones or anything else in our pocket on the floor beside us and a lot of people had coats on their chairs.
One of my friends left left her bag upstairs in the sports hall and said her purse was robbed (debatable really)

Thanks for that. Considering we are in the E room first I bring a coat and just see what they say but if they are same as last year should be ok. Way too cold to be without my jacket and it not exactly warm in alot of those rooms.

True you do not know with leaving things lying about but sports hall is open to anyone walking in there and going up stairs at times.

Doubt you'd be let leave the coat either on you or else hanging on your chair...
I think last year for the F room you could leave your coat up at the front of the room so that it was in view but not within reach. Arrive early and ask.

They can't reasonably ask you to take off articles of clothing. I've worn a coat, hat, scarf and gloves in to exams in NUI,G due to the cold.

Wore my coat into the hall this morning and took it off during the exam and left it on the chair behind me. People had mobiles turned off on the floor etc. Bags go upstairs so try and avoid bringing a bag or at least keep your valuables in your coat.

Oh thanks have an exam in hall Saturday and know I am sitting near a door so glad to know I can wear it in, that hall is way too cold to be sitting without a jacket.

Won't be bringing a bag and always switch mobile off so can thor it on floor.

Thanks and hope exams going ok for you.

First one today and all fine thanks.
My seat was up near the front and although it was cold outside it was grand inside. Near the entrance might be a different matter... good luck anyway.
