    Is SAG for real?

    Where's Michael Shannon?

And what about Albert Brooks and Bruce Greenwood?

I like DiCaprio and all, but I'm not expiating much from his J. Edgar performance.

I forgot about Oldman. Doesn't bode well for TTSS at the Oscars.

I actually really liked Bridesmaids. :o

As for Serkis, I feel sorry for the poor animators who get no credit anytime he's involved.

Hard to take any awards ceremony serious when Bridesmaids is nominated for best ensemble. It was a mediocre film and none of the performances were anything to write home about. A film such as Meek's Cutoff is far more deserving of a nomination, in fact that Meek's didn't reciece any recognition is a crime. Hopefully the Oscars will recognize its merits though I have my doubts

He's good in it but not worthy of award recognition. There are numerous superior supporting turns from the past year far more deserving of being nominated.

Glad to see Christopher Plummer get the supporting actor award. He was very good in Beginners.

Totally agree but think the lack of nods in mots of the awards show how poorly its done in the US. Which is such a pity as it is a great film and the acting is outstanding. I know it is not to everyones taste and is a use your brain kind of film but you cannot deny that the outstanding cast and the excellent performances they gave.

I mean Gary Oldman should have been nominated in Best Actor in most of the awards show - was delighted he finally got a Oscar nod but would be shocked if he wins. Take a miracle.

For supporting actor I think Benedict Cumberbatch should have gotten at least one nod - thought the BAFTA's would be the most likely award but seems he did not get past the long list.

As you said looking at rest of cast there is no shortage of talent. But when you see Johah Hill being nominated I have to wonder has it time to give up on the Oscar's.
