    hi guys

im buying a macbook pro:) - definetely a 13' anyway

just wondering which TECH spec i should get?

I have look at the 2.4 and 2.8, but to be honest, i not sure if the 2.8 would really offer that much extra performance?

I don't need any more than 500gb internal HD so that aint a selling point

i gues the bug question form my 4.5 years with my year 2007 macbook is does the more exoensive macbook pro run hotter?!

i will just be using it for normal stuff, internet, web, skype, ms word

any ideas which spec i should get?

    i currently have this spec:

Slight increases in CPU speed are never that worthy an upgrade. You should get the largest SSD you can afford, and install 8GB RAM yourself as opposed to buying it from Apple.

I would suggest you consider getting a 13" Macbook Air instead, given what you'll be using it for. Higher res screen, SSD as standard and generally a lovely little machine.

I've got a 15" i7 MBP and it usually runs pretty cool, but I have no idea about the 13" one.

thanks for your help buddy, i went down to currys last night, and pretty much decided on the 13' macbook pro, - the entry level version, and will just pimp up the ram afterwards as you said!

gonna be a nnnnnnnunnggg fast machine ;)

    thank you!

Here is the best ram for the MBP, i've put in my 2011 15" MBP and it's great, no problems whatsoever.

I'd recommend an SSD if you're looking for performance, the laptop now boots in about 20 seconds, as opposed to the 60 seconds using the standard HDD.

Do you know if that place has a shop in or around Dublin by any chance?

nope, as far as i know it's online only, but the shipping is next day always (if ordered before 4pm and choosing the €5.75 delivery option). They're really the best value around.
