Unsolicited emails - Whatever happened to them?

Dunno about yous all but I haven't received any emails from a Nigerian prince or a Russian starving boy with a sick mother looking for money to buy blankets in a long time. I hope I haven't missed out on the chance to invest in the African scheme or that the Russians are not lying dead in a snowbound hut in Siberia.

Anyone still get those emails or have they pretty much petered out?

Gmail user here, so I haven't seen a spam mail in years. It's one of the few things Google does really well. Now if we could just get them to stop messing about the the youtube design and just get it working properly...

I was looking through my spam folder (as you do...) and one of the emails from a 'bank' had the image embedded DIRECTLY from google images (gstatic.com)
