I want the best phone out there at the moment. I have always argued that android phones are great and I am looking at the galaxy s2 or the nexus or even the htc sensation xl but I keep drifting back to the iPhone. I will be going on bill so it will mean a long contract so I want a phone that will keep me entertained. I love my iPad so much, very happy with it. Is there any point in getting an iphone when my iPad (1) is running iOS 5?

some people say no, some people say yes.

personally i did the opposite, i had an ip4 and wanted an ipad, i have both now and i l have them both they complement each other really well, the phone is perfect for me, and i don't think its too simliar to the ipad especially since you'll gain facetime and other features.

i think if you want it go for it regardless of what other people think.

I have both, really only use the ipad at work. But the advantage is that you wouldn't have to buy the same app twice (in most cases), you can buy it on the iphone and use it again on the ipad. A few developers are taking the piss and you have to pay twice for the same app. Whereas if you have android and ipad you will always have to pay twice for the same app.

If you're already an apple fan, stick with their stuff.

You're really only going to get one answer in this forum, then a different answer in the Android forum lol.

One thing though, I've got the iPhone 4 and a S2, both are great devices and you'll love whichever one you choose! :D

Absolutely. As hoodwinked has stated, they complement each other really well. Ipad for home. Iphone for not. :)

I have both in my hands at the moment - Galaxy S and iPhone4 (as well as a old windows mobile HTC Tytn - no, i'm not a drug dealer :D) , but being honest with myself, of the two you mention, the iPhone is the one which is kept charged. Frequently the Galaxy will go out of charge and i'll only charge it when I get around to it (no hurry) or not wanting to carry them all around, the Galaxy may be left behind though frequently I have all three (scheez!).

The iPhone is sweet and i'm not at all an Apple fanboy - they are in my opinion a corporate greed evil monster (that doesn't actually mean that they are ;). Its not an android thing but i'd be a heavy data user more so than calls and the Galaxy's battery just sucks. I am trying out the juice defender on it and it is making some improvement.

The Galaxy is also about 10-15%% too big. Its getting of Motorola 8500x dimensions (i jest slightly but yes, I remember holding a mobile phone with both hands). In terms usability and interface, the apple one is just a little more simplistic to use.

Yes, there's apps on both platform, but I can't quite put my finger on it - there's something about the iPhone interface. Its just 'there' in parts where android isn't quite.

Overall, they'll both get the job done and its all good for the consumer so you'll have plenty to entertain you over a contract.

All the above just my opinion.
