Id say this has been done loads before but for an updated version what are your thoughts? :)

Was in the lounge bar in roost monday for a while, left tried to come back in wasnt served told to leave by barman, they seemed to be refusing any students just telling them to pay in to the nightclub

Tried O'Neills refused, didnt get a reason, probably too drunk.

Tried Mantra was mayhem outside there, pushed to the ground by bouncers clearing the door outside, muppets knocked a few people to the floor.

SU was good until it got slippy.

I liked Bradys when I was there but only once.

Whats the story with downstairs in mantra, never seems to be open late anyway. Tbh I dont really like mantra or the roost, they always seem to be utterly packed to the rafters every night I'm out, and I really think they lack a proper outdoor smoking area, usually nice to escape for a while get some air. The indoor ones especially in mantra are utter ****e.

Both have outdoor smoking areas as you call them (by law they have to be outside)

Its just in Mantra they have a retractable cover over the top (look up next time, you'll see it)

the problem is that people were complaining of the cold so Mantra went and installed massive heaters, so its now uncomfortably warm.

But the roost smoking area is an improvement on what it was.

I love O'neills, its my favourite place to go for a few pints.

Roost would be the best spot in Maynooth in my opinion, cant stand Mantra. Everytime I go there something happens, this monday infact, couldnt leave the place because they refused to open the front doors due to a large crowd gathering outside. Basically they wouldnt let people leave the place!!.

The problem with roost now is that they dont seem to be charging in thursday any more so the place is getting packed to the rafters, the smoking area is hard to breath in aswell with the massive crowds.

Mantra's smoking area is a constant 21 degrees, don't see how you can complain about that. :/

    Eh?

Dont see why you would want it to be 21 degrees? Its absolutely roasting in there.

Decent smoking area for me would be some fresh air and not even hotter than the nightclub.

Not sure why on earth people would complain about it being cold in an outdoor smoking area...:confused:

Yeah agreed on both counts there. I was outside mantra when that happened , they had no bouncers outside so people just shoved their way to the door and then they locked the doors so people couldnt get in or out. They then knocked people outside clearing the doors.

yeah i like the roost but like you said its always very packed there lately bit uncomfortable moving around

21 degrees is room temperature. That is hardly "roasting". There's parts of it that aren't covered by heaters that are cold as well.

The smoking room in Mantra is the hottest room I've ever been in. There is no way that was 21 degrees. Why does a smoking room need to heated so differently anyway?

I see what your saying now, but like Daemos I really dont think it is room temperature.

The heaters in there are ridiculous....

Duno I just think it could be better in open air, it is full of smoke after all. Just my opinion though! Everyone likes different places.

Can't stand mantra, havn't been since I was in first year. I do however, appreciate the heaters in the smoking area of the Roost, especially when it's not as packed.
Roost is probably my favorite this year, but Brady's has it's moments too, especially if you ca get a good crowd.
