Why can't we drug our children to make them do what they're told?

Right, so, I was a shít as a kid. Not in trouble with the law or anything but wouldn't do anything unless Iwanted to, stubborn and all that.
For example, my teeth are crap cause I outright refused to get braces. No amount of cajoling or bribery, punishments or anything could get me to allow it.
    I regret it now.

Anyway, the point being, my parents tried everything short of beating the shít out of me really. And I was thinking about how I'd handle that if I'm ever a parent.

And then it came to me. Why can't we just knock our kids out for stuff. Mum would have given me a cup of cocoa or something and next thing I know, I wake up in a dental hospital with my teeth pulled out and rearranged and wired up or whatever.

What needs to be done gets done with a minimum of hassle. I mean a kid can't legally consent to anything anyway, so it's not as if we give them "rights" when it comes to medical issues as it is. Obviously the doctor would have to have some discretion. No bringing in your 12 yr old boy for breast implants. And if you don't want to knock them out, there's surely some drug that just makes people more agreeable and less likely to kick up a shítstorm?

Anyway, I think the idea has some merit.

Just give them a few good punches in the stomach instead, there's a thread in AH recommending it, it must be the way forward.

Why don't we just drug everyone who doesn't willingly follow our every command?

You'd want to see him with and without it - the difference is amazing and literally life changing for him, us, his teacher, and the other kids in the class.

You do know what happened to Michael Jackson?

Which is why there are laws protecting children.

    Dr Conrad Murray?

If it did,it would already be in place.

There are drugs out there for specific conditions, but thankfully nothing close to what you are asking for.

If we're talking about mandatory knock out drugs for screaming brats on planes then I'm all for it.

Ahh, now. So the world is perfect right now, there's not a single idea of merit yet to implemented because according to you "it would already be in place"?

Part of being a parent involves teaching the children how to behave properly.

If you can't be bothered doing that, don't have kids.

    Where did I say that?

I was replying to your strange notion that we should be allowed to drug our children because your parents were unable to get around you to get your teeth fixed.

I pondered posting a reply myself, but decide I couldn't express my opinion any better than the above.

    Well said.

Not only that but the kid won't know him self when he comes of these stuff hel have confidancee issue because his body is essentially controlled bye a drug then

I wonder if she now that the crap she's feeding her son all so a has a direct colrilation between sucide in you teenagers.. Its disgusting that some one has to feed a kid drugs because being hones it sound like laziness and the lack of a ability to stimulate a mind :(

And how a parent can admit to feeding there child a drug i do not know may as well hang a flag out saying unfit parent

Well aren't we a barrel of laughs this morning!

Anywho, why not just mandatory sterilisation for people who want to give children drugs so that they do not have to bother doing the difficult side of parenting?

I think that idea has some merit.

I think we should give all children free cigarettes. Nothing like a smooth filtered cigarette to calm an unruly child.
