Commuting Advice - Wexford (south east) and Dublin West

I would really appreciate your advice on the following. Having just recently returned from 3 years in London, where my partner and I continued a long term relationship- I've got a job in Wexford, near Enniscorthy (Ballymurn). The job will sometimes involve travelling to waterford (Cork Road). My partner works around Liffey Valley.

Any advice on where to live that would be half way for us both? We're keen to live together again... Would rather favour easy transport links to Dublin- We are both from Galway and often go there at the weekends...

Somewhere along the M9, possibly Carlow. There are no other towns of any size between there and Naas. Property/rent should cheap enough around Carlow too as the arse has fallen completely out of the market in the midlands.

You would have the option of going Portlaoise, Tullamore, Athlone to get onto the M6 for Galway, or Liffey Valley to Galway after work is handy enough as it's motorway door to door (tho you've 2 tolls). Waterford to Galway is a very long road.

why would you pick Carlow? do you not think somewhere on the M11/M50 would be so much better? Bray or Shankill or nearer to Dublin at Cherrywood?

Carlow seems the worst of all worlds to get to Liffey Valley and Enniscorthy.

The N11 is very scenic but the M9 is much faster. That's why.

Enniscorthy is about 30 miles cross country from Carlow via the windy N 80 so Carlow or perhaps Castledermot makes it actually not a bad choice at all. There are a few turn off's on the N 7 towards Liffey Valley as well by way of short cuts so a few savings can be made.

I opted for Carlow as there is a lot more to it that Castledermot. i.e. it's a proper town. There's very very little in Castledermot.
