I'm looking for some opinions and or advice

I have a 12 year old boiler in the house that I'm thinking of replacing

Since we moved in we have added several new radiators and upgraded a few from singles to doubles and the existing boiler in struggling to heat them

The current boiler is an ideal classic I'm not sure what the kw of it is

I was thinking of getting a 30kw worcester bosch boiler or a combi boiler to replace what I have

My problem is if I get a combi unit would it be able to fill the bath and would it cost more to run it and what would the pros and cons of the two boiler types be

The combi will only fill the bath if u put the stopper in the plug hole:)

Is ur system zoned because if properly zoned u can avoid heating all the rooms at the same time and therefore make a smaller boiler work harder and more efficiently.

Do u have TRV's on the rads?

How did u arrive at 30?

I have 2 zones upstairs and downstairs with controls on the radiators upstairs

The 30kw is a bit of a guess im guessing the bigger the better

Id put the plug in the bath if I try fill it what I want to know is can a combi fill a bit and what kind of time would it take compared to my current setup

Hi I'm new here but am currently looking at replacing my own boiler also. I have been advised to buy worchester as they are the absolutly most reliable of all and the firm have been on the go a long time. We had a Keston boiler, which we were told by our plumber at the time, was the rolls royce of boilers. after 2 years it broke down and now 6 years later has cost us a fortune on on service and repairs and has given up the ghost:mad: So I don't reccommend Keston boilers at all!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is no such thing as absolute reliable. Worcester are a great boiler as are Viessmann and vaillent. They all have mechanical and electronic parts in them. Viessmann and Vaillant are the top selling boilers in Europe so that speaks volumes. I would look for the boilers that give you long warranties as standard. Viessmann, Worcester (if the installer qualifies) and Ariston (CLAS). they all come with 5 year parts and labour warranties (the installer needs the be able to give the warranty on the Worcester).

    Hi
I have a Baxi gas boiler, with a hot water cylinder etc. I am interested in switching to a combi boiler so that I would have instant hot water to feed the power shower in the upstairs bathroom. I have an electric shower in the downstairs bathroom. Does anyone have any advice on the effectiveness of a combi boiler? I have 10 radiators in my house in total and when I need extra hot water or when the heating is not on, I usually use the immersion heater which is very expensive.
Would there be much disruption to change from one type of boiler to the other? Both boiler and hot water cylinder are downstairs and the cold water storage tanks are in the attic as normal.
    thanks a lot
